Integration of Risk Management Tools into the Innovative Project Management System of Industrial Enterprises
EDN: INEXFY
Abstract
This article examines the risks associated with implementing innovative projects at Russian industrial enterprises. The objective of the study is to substantiate the thesis that the development and implementation of innovations is both a risk escalator and a risk mitigation tool. The article identifies the sources, nature, and essential characteristics of industrial enterprise risks. The article presents the types of risks faced by industrial enterprises implementing innovative projects, highlighting strategic risks, or the risks of failing to achieve economic and innovative development targets. Using a multiple correlation model, it analyzes the impact of R&D expenditures on the key performance indicators of industrial enterprises and their competitiveness. Variable scenarios of dynamics of economic performance indicators of Baltic Plant JSC and Chelyabtorgtekhnika Plant LLC are presented, which confirm the leading role of R&D expenses in ensuring the progressive dynamics of production and export volumes, regardless of the type of enterprises. The possibility of neutralizing risk-generating factors by implementing a project-based approach to risk management is substantiated. Emphasis is placed on the need to integrate innovation project management tools and risk management tools, taking into account the specifics of the project lifecycle. This allows R&D expenditures to be considered as a tool for preventing the risks of reducing the competitiveness of an industrial enterprise.
