EDN: ZYPQYD
Abstract
The article is devoted to environmental risk management using the example of assessing the impact of the oil and gas business on the atmosphere. The activities of Sakhalin Energy LLC (hereinafter referred to as Sakhalin Energy) for 2012–2024 are considered. The study is based on materials from approved reports on the company's sustainable development. The dynamics of gross and specific emissions, as well as costs of air protection and fees for emissions into the atmosphere are analyzed. A summary table is compiled with annual changes in the number of emissions as a percentage in relation to the previous year and the year of the beginning of the study period with the identification of the corresponding causes. A conclusion is made about the possibility of managing environmental risks, primarily based on the company's commitment to environmental standards. It is shown that more consistent steps are needed to implement the intended goals, as well as sustainable financing of environmental initiatives.
